About WNC Climate Control
Three Generations of Heating and Air in Weaverville
Josh Crowder’s grandfather started WNC Climate Control, and Josh was on jobs with him by the time he was ten. He went on to complete an HVAC apprenticeship under his father as an adult.
Josh joined Bolton Corporation as a commercial mechanics apprentice in 2000 and worked as a technician’s apprentice at Palmetto Air & Water Balance. While working as an HVAC mechanic at one of the larger companies in Asheville, he earned an Associate of Applied Science in HVAC from A-B Tech, and later moved up to commercial construction manager there.
In 2020 he reopened his grandfather’s company under the same name.
For the first few years, Josh was a one-man-show. Every call was answered by him, every install, service and maintenance was done by him. He truly built this company alone from the ground up.
Josh holds North Carolina H1, H2, and H3 licenses and refrigeration certification. He’s a member of the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors association.

What We Do
WNC Climate Control works on homes and businesses across Western North Carolina, from residential change-outs to commercial rooftop systems. Josh came up through commercial construction, so the bigger jobs are familiar ground.
Every residential install and change-out carries a ten-year labor warranty.

Where We Work
Weaverville is home. From here we cover Buncombe, Madison, Haywood, Henderson, Transylvania, McDowell, Rutherford, and Yancey counties.
In the Community
WNC Climate Control sponsors local teams and events around Buncombe County, including the North Buncombe Black Hawks and youth softball. We also give to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
After Hours HVAC Emergency
Heating and cooling problems don’t wait for business hours. When something quits on a Saturday or at ten at night, Josh takes the call himself.
We keep our published hours honest instead of advertising round-the-clock coverage we’d have to farm out to a call center.
